Erosion and Sediment Control

NRS works with landowners and government agencies to inventory, prioritize, and treat human-caused erosion and sediment sources in north coast watersheds. NRS uses the latest in bio-engineering techniques to help stabilize landslides, hillslope, trail, and streambank erosion.  In Humboldt County, NRS implemented erosion control projects in Freshwater Creek, Lindsay Creek, Humboldt Bay, and along the Hammond Trail.  NRS also works with local timber companies and government landowners to reduce erosion and sediment delivery to streams from forest roads through road inventories and upgrades.
