Humboldt County DHHS Public Health received a Federal Active Transportation Program Cycle 3 grant designed to increase the proportion of trips by cycling/walking, increase safety and mobility of non-motorized users, and enhance public health through education, encouragement and enforcement for students and youth in McKinleyville and  Fortuna. In addition to coordinating family focused bicycling events and assisting Public Health with bicycle education for youth in schools and community recreation programs, RCAA will be working with County Public Health on projects with middle school youth that highlight Safe Routes to School issues.
